changing the way speech and language therapy is delivered
Working on MyChoicePad for the last 7 years and 10 years in the learning disability field has given me very good access to the world of speech and language therapy. I've made some brilliant friends with amazing minds. The allied health community and primary care sector is now ready to invest in healthcare technology and the consumer is just starting to accept alternative methods of delivery.
Iris Speaks aims to be at the forefront of this change for speech and language therapy. We're using telehealth, chatbots and VR training!
funding the next impact tech unicorn
Ananda is now the largest impact early stage VC fund in Europe. With $100m under management and a portfolio of 15 companies. They are now into their third and largest fund. They have a Munich HQ and I'm one of the London based team. We invest in Late Seed, Series A for impact based ventures. So this covers health tech, edtech, social care tech and cleantech.
The portfolio includes, IESO Health, Repositive, Arbor Education, Third Space Learning and Auticon.
Enabling access to communication
MyChoicePad has been helping children and adults with learning and communication disabilities with their language development since 2011. One of the first iPad education apps this award winning mobile application uses sign language and symbols from the Makaton language programme and has helped over 100,000 to date.
helping people with autism control their anxiety
Absolutely love this project! I put together an amazing team of developers, designers and content creators and we worked on the Molehill Mountain app for the brilliant research charity Autistica and King's College. We took clinical research and turned elements into an app with user experience sessions from this dedicated and lively community.
Finding and supporting the entrepreneurs of the future
I get to design, teach and yes, mark assignments for the Customer Development module of the amazing MSc Entrepreneurship at Cass Business School. The teaching team is fab, relevant and very dynamic and of course the students are the best in the world!
Changing attitudes to disabilities
I currently have two voluntary roles - I'm a trustee for KIDS, the charity for disabled children and their families and I'm also Chair of Governors at Beatrice Tate, an Outstanding special school in London. With frozen and reduced budgets in special needs I'm keen to raise awareness in the mainstream and support where I can with technology strategy.
